March Update

March 26th dawned crisp and cloudy but that did not dampen the spirits of eight dedicated friends who showed up to work the trails at the nature center. They came armed with heavy duty rakes, weed whackers, pruning sheers and stout leather gloves. In short order, they cleaned up winter’s growth and debris. They cleared space for a new station near where the water collection tank will sit, made room for the archeology dig near the metate stone and test holes, and bravely tackled cactus. The trails are ready for the April/May visits from Brownie and Girl Scout troupes, for elementary school children and other nature enthusiasts.
